Planning for Conference

August-September – Remember to submit your country selections using the School Registration Form. Payment does not need to be made at this time. Information on preferred countries, committee membership, and countries already selected can be found on the Country Assignment page.

November – The issues books are posted to the conference website on November 1. These can be found on the Committees and Issues Books page of the conference website. Make sure to notify your students of their publication as soon as possible to ensure they have enough time to research and prepare pre-conference materials.

December – School fees are due on December 31. Make sure to make necessary arrangements with your college fiscal office or student delegates (if they will be providing the funds to cover this fee) in advance to ensure your fees are submitted by this deadline. Fees can be paid via check, bank transfer, or credit card. If paying bank transfer or credit card, payments can be made directly through the invoice issued to you upon submission of the School Registration Form. More information about payment can be found on the Registration page of the conference website.

February –  Make necessary arrangements with your college fiscal office or student delegates (if they will be providing the funds to cover conference costs) prior to March to ensure that you are able to pay delegate fees by the March deadline, book accommodations, and pay necessary travel costs.

March – The Delegate Credential Form, all Policy Statements, and each team’s Country Profile are typically due on the first Friday in March. If you have students participating in the World Press, an article submission is also due at this time. More information regarding pre-conference documents can be found on the Conference Preparation page of the website. The Delegate Credential Form can be found on the Registration page of the conference website.

Delegate fees and one draft resolution per country, per committee, are due one week after the Delegate Credentials Form and pre-conference documents submission deadline previously mentioned. Up to date information on this year’s document submission and delegate fee deadlines can be found on the Registration page of the conference website.

April – The annual session of Model United Nations of the Far West typically occurs midway through the month of April. The exact dates for each year’s session are listed on the Homepage of the conference website. If you or your students are looking to spend the free evening in San Francisco, refer to the Accomodations page for information about popular tourist attractions and sightseeing.
